Learn Samoan with Drops

Ua a mai? Hello. How are you? “Ua a mai” is a common greeting in the Samoan language and just one of the thousands of words you can learn in our latest addition to the Drops language family.

As a part of UNESCO’s International Year of Indigenous Languages and in support of the Samoan language, we’re happy to announce our 33rd language, and 3rd Polynesian language — Gagana faʻa Sāmoa.

About the Samoan Language

Samoan has over 500,000 speakers worldwide and, alongside English, is the official language of both Samoa and American Samoa. As a result of Samoan immigration, Gagana faʻa Sāmoa has become a very global language. In fact, only around half of the Samoan speaking population actually live in Samoa. Many organizations, like A’oga Fa’a Samoa (Samoan language nests) are working to increase how many people speak the language. And now, so is Drops.
