March 1st 2023, United States - Drops, a Kahoot! company and a leading language-learning app, is announcing the addition of the Irish Language course to its platform. The new Irish language course allows learners all over the world to learn more about Irish culture and to help others connect with the millions of people around the world who claim Irish descent.
The new Irish language course includes more than 1000+ words and phrases for both beginners and advanced learners in addition to culturally-specific topics to help users learn about Irish culture. The new Irish course was created with native speakers, including our translator, Amy McColgan an Irish teacher and translator from Donegal.

The Irish language, also known as Gaeilge, is an endangered language with 78,000 native speakers and only 1.2 million speakers worldwide. This is why preserving the Irish language is so important, and why Drops has made this new course a priority.
In addition, by 2030, the Irish government aims to have 20% of public employees in Ireland proficient in Irish. This is part of a broader effort to increase the use and visibility of the Irish language in public life and to help preserve and promote the language for future generations. The new Drops Irish language course is an important step towards achieving this goal, providing an accessible and effective way for public employees, and anyone else interested in learning Irish, to improve their language skills and contribute to the revitalization of this important part of Irish culture.

Drops is available on the App Store and Google Play Store and offers courses in over 48 languages with +40M installs. The app uses a gamified approach to language learning and is designed to help users reach their language learning goals in a short amount of time. To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Drops will also run a special challenge in the app to incentivize users to learn about Irish culture and language.
